WATCH: Narco submarine in hidden aerial footage was stuck in an open canal

The case of an aircraft thief who ditched a stolen narco Sub began unfolding in Barbados, where a boat surfaced, holding no passengers, with no identification.

The only trace is on the U.S. Undersea Video Shield Network, and one of the first things you’ll see is an extended set of magnets in the spots where the ditched airliner seemed to be stuck.

“When you get to the ID segments, you’ll see a last mile undersea cable, sticking out of the water, the point where it should be,” Dr. Steven Schenk of AECOM on the USCG.gov video.

“Any pressure you put on that cable, as opposed to trying to tug it, it just bounces off. It’s kind of like a swimming champion does, with a little resistance.”

The whole thing is streaming over-the-Internet live so the whole story can be followed at watch.uscg.gov/hadatchold.

What’s next for the unnamed narco submarine? We’ll be watching.
