Man hit by a car near intersection of Millworks Street and Wakefield Street in York city centre, police say
A pedestrian has sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in North York on Monday night.
Police said officers were called at 10.30pm to the incident near the intersection of Millworks Street and Wakefield Street in York city centre, north-east of Toronto.
A police spokesperson said the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital, where he was in a critical condition. The driver of the vehicle did not require hospital treatment.
The victim was southbound on Millworks Street and crossed Wakefield Street when he was struck by a Ford Transit. The pedestrian sustained cuts to his head and neck. He is in a stable condition.
The scene of the crash was cordoned off and the road was closed to vehicle traffic.
