(h/t Goal) – Gael Clichy has mocked La Liga rivals Barcelona after visiting his former club Real Madrid’s Bernabeu Stadium as a guest of club legend Xabi Alonso.
Clichy had an illustrious playing career at Arsenal, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain before joining the first team at the Los Blancos this season.
‘For me, PSG is everything, I spent a lot of my career there,’ the French defender said. ‘To have a great club like Paris Saint-Germain and play in it, it’s a dream come true.

‘But, when I was leaving, PSG was my idol, but Madrid is not far behind. There are a lot of things I miss.’
Alonso faced a host of former clubs on the weekend as he appeared in the Champions League against Benfica and against Seville in La Liga – taking himself by surprise at being booed by Real fans.
The midfielder, who is currently on loan at Chinese club Shanghai SIPG, admitted to being ‘surprised’ but says it doesn’t faze him.
He explained: ‘I had not expected a bad reaction to my return at all. It was an emotional night and then I had to walk off in silence after the match. It is a strange thing but it didn’t faze me.
‘The reaction is obviously something for other people to judge and talk about but I accept it and take it in my stride.’
