CDC scientists discussed smallpox lab waste in email

“The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has clarified to CNN that what was shown in an email as some sample vials that were found in a St. Louis, Missouri laboratory may not have contained any virus at all. CDC does not know of any smallpox samples that could potentially be in the medical waste at the lab.” -CDC

(CNN) — A CDC scientist who sent the above email was first identified by CNN as Scott B. Fiebiger. CDC says Bremniger had previous actions showing this wasn’t the first time he sent an email concerning smallpox that should have been shared with the larger team at the lab.
